Itinerary

Day 1: Rome Arrival

  • Upon arrival at the Rome airport, meet the driver for private transfer to the hotel.
  • Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Rome.

Day 2: Rome Sightseeing

Rome, Italy’s capital, is a sprawling, cosmopolitan city. Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which house masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes.

  • Breakfast at the hotel followed by a  full day shared tour of Rome.

  • Walk on the original path of ancient Rome along the Via Sacra and see the Temples of Vesta, Antonino and Faustina, the ancient Basilica Julia and Aemilia remnants of the glorious past of the Roman Empire. 

Day 3: Rome → Venice, Gondola Ride

Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces.

  • Breakfast at the hotel and private transfer to Rome Termini train station for the train from Rome to Venice.
  • Upon arrival, transfer from Venice station to the hotel in a private water taxi.
  • In the afternoon, reach the meeting point and enjoy a lovely shared Gondola ride through the canals of Venice. After the ride, the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Venice.

Day 4: Venice Sightseeing

  • After breakfast at the hotel proceed for the half day shared Tour to the Northern islands of Murano and Burano
  • The overall duration of the tours will be 4 – 4.5 hours.
  • After the tour, return to the hotel.
  • Rest of the day at leisure.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Venice.

The island of Murano is renowned for its long tradition of glass-making. Ferry-loads of visitors come to explore the Museo del Vetro, which tells the story of glass through the centuries, and to shop for locally crafted souvenirs

  • After 30 minutes of navigation, arrive in Murano, and visit one of the famous glass factories there.
  • The stop will be around 1 hour long.
  • This tour includes transport by boat, local tour guide.
  • Once finished, depart for Burano.

Picturesque Burano the fishermen island is famous for its lace and trimmings, it's brightly colored fishermen's houses and its casual eateries serving seafood from the lagoon.

  • Getting off of the boat find a little street full of typical shops, restaurants, and excellent bakeries selling the famous 'Buranelli' biscuits.
  • The stop in Burano will be around 1.5 hours. 

Day 5: Venice → Florence and Sightseeing

Florence is known as the 'Cradle of the Renaissance' (la culla del Rinascimento) for its monuments, churches, and buildings.

  • After breakfast at the hotel transfer to the train station for the train from Venice to Florence.
  • Upon arrival, transfer to hotel in private car.
  • In the early afternoon, take part in the Shared tour to Pisa.
  • This tour includes transport, assistant, local guide, entrance tickets to the cathedral.
  • After the tour, return to Florence and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Florence.

  • The tour starts with a guided walking tour of Piazza dei Miracoli, with its celebrated Leaning Tower (exterior), the Baptistery (exterior) and other important monuments.
  • This is followed by a visit to the interior of the Cathedral, an unrivaled masterpiece of Romanesque art constructed between the XI and XII centuries.
  • Free time at your disposal. Those interested can take a pleasant walk with the tour escort and reach Piazza dei Cavalieri.
  • Admire the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world.

Day 6: Florence Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, depart for a full day tour to the Cinque Terre.
  • In addition to comfortable clothes, it is recommended to carry swimwear and a hat to protect against the sun !!
  • This tour includes transport, tour escort, boat and/or train tickets, and a typical Ligurian light lunch.
  • Duration of this tour will be 12.5 hours.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Florence.
Cinque Terre Tour
 

Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 towns, colorful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces, harbors are filled with fishing boats and trattorias turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto

  • Upon arrival in Manarola, there is free time to discover the little village.
  • Later a local train will take us to the second village, Riomaggiore, for a pleasant stop to admire its beauties.
  • Proceed by boat to Monterosso, an ancient fishing village considered 'the pearl of the Cinque Terre'.
  • Be overcome by enchanting beaches and luxuriant vegetation that surrounds the little village.
  • Time to plunge into the crystal sea and eat a typical Ligurian light lunch (included).
  • Continue to Vernazza and admire the intricate layout of this village with its “carruggi” (narrow lanes) and steep stairways.
  • After the visit to Vernazza, reach La Spezia for the bus back to Florence. 

Day 7 – Florence → Rome → Vienna

Vienna is known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, and the Habsburgs’ summer residence.

  • After breakfast at the hotel transfer to the Florence train station for the train to Rome.
  • Transfer from the station to Rome FCO Airport to catch the flight to Vienna
  • Upon arrival in Vienna, meet the chauffeur and transfer to the hotel.
  • After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city.
  • Use the Vienna Card for a Hop-on Hop-off tour of major places of interest in Vienna.
  • Enjoy premium views of Vienna's best landmarks and attractions.
  • Hop off as much as you wish, with over 20 stops located at iconic sites like Belvedere Palace, Schönbrunn Palace, and the State Opera.

Day 8 – Vienna Sightseeing with Big Bus Tours

  • After breakfast, continue sightseeing in Vienna using the 48 Hrs Vienna card.
  • The Red Route takes one around the center of the city and up to Danube Island, home to several Vienna attractions including, the Mozart Museum, Albertina Museum and Palace and St Charles’ Church.
  • The Blue Route takes you to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the imperial family. Also, see the Belvedere Palace and Arsenal.
  • After sightseeing, return to the hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Vienna.

Day 9 – Vienna Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, continue with Vienna sightseeing using the Vienna card.
  • After returning from the sightseeing, collect the self-drive vehicle (Opel Astra or similar) for the Austrian drive holiday to Zell am See.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Vienna.

  • After breakfast, proceed for Zell am See sightseeing using the Summer Card.
  • Use the self-drive car to go around the town or take a ride to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.
  • Overnight at the apartment in Zell am See.

The Kitzsteinhorn is a mountain in the High Tauern range of the Central Eastern Alps in Austria. It is part of the Glockner Group and reaches a height of 3,203 m (10,509 ft).  The Kitzsteinhorn glaciers are a popular ski area. The glacier at the Kitzsteinhorn provides a world of experiences, adventures, and sports.

Day 12 – Zell am See → Salzburg sightseeing → Vienna

  • Post breakfast, checkout and proceed to Vienna via Salzburg.
  • Do sightseeing in Salzburg with below being the major attractions:
  • Alternately, the German town of Berchtesgaden is on the way from Zell am See to Salzburg with a slight detour and is worth paying a half-day visit.
  • After sightseeing, proceed to Vienna (3 hrs from Salzburg).
  • Upon arrival at hotel check-in and return the rental car.

On this evening Paris and river tour, see illuminated attractions by both land and water, including the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe.
