Scenic Homestay at Meppadi is a luxury villa, resembling a planter’s bungalow, and comes with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Things to do
Wayanad’s major tourist spots are in proximity to this Homestay. A guided safari through the heart of the dense wild flora and fauna Muthanga or Tholppetti wildlife sanctuaries will take you up close with their wild inmates like elephants, deer, tigers, and monkeys as well as numerous birds and butterflies.
Set out on a peaceful boat ride through Pookkotte Lake or a serene cruise on a catamaran through the Banasura Dam reservoir , the largest earth dam in India, constructed across the tributary of the Kabini River. The Edakkal Caves which have rock etchings that are as ancient as 5,000 years old is a must. A visit to the Thirunelli Temple and a dip at the Papanashini River is considered to wash away all your sins. Head to the Kuruva Islands to experience an uninhabited evergreen forest , abundant with uncommon species of birds, herbs, and orchids.
For adventurous outings, trek to Pakshipadalam and experience the thrill as you blaze a trail through the dense forests and steep peaks. Meenmutty waterfall cascading from a height of 300 m in three separate tiers is not only a delightful sight to watch but a 2 km adventurous trek can get you atop it.
Soochipara waterfall, thundering from a height of 100 to 300 feet, has a pool below for adventure sports like water rafting. Chembra peak, the tallest peak in Wayanad, is a steep climb but the panoramic views of Wayanad and a heart-shaped tranquil lake from its top are worth every effort.

Bangalore is 317 km (approx 5.5 hrs) away while Mysore is at a distance of 161 km (approx 3 hrs). Calicut is the nearest airport which is around 90 km (approx 2 hrs) away.
Travel on NH766 from Calicut towards Thamarasseri. Continue on NH766 to reach Vythiri. On your way, you will cross towns like Puduppadi and Adivaram. After reaching Vythiri, travel a few kilometers to Chundale and take a right at Chundale to hit SH29. This road will take you to Meppadi. After crossing Meppadi town, continue on SH29 until you see the St. Joseph’s Church at Rippon. Take a right after the church. This road leads to the Homestay.

The cuisine is purely vegetarian and cooked with a lot of love and care by the hostess herself. The owners are extremely caring and make you feel a part of the family. Nothing can beat the warmth they impart to the guests. They have a beautiful pool with a breath-taking view. A place which is truly a home away from home.
