The white cottages of the resort, an abundance of pristine air, sparklingly clear water, and soothing sea breeze make your stay no less relaxing than a spa. The cottages are beautifully constructed, well-appointed, and are sea facing. The sunrise from the resort is breathtaking and it stirs up guests for an enthusiastic marine expedition. The resort is just a few minutes away from the dive center. This eco-friendly resort houses a restaurant that serves up delicious meals.

Prerequisites

Some of the amateur diving programs have absolutely no prerequisites while some of the advanced programs need you to have at least basic knowledge of scuba diving. Minimum age required for diving up to a depth of 12 meters is 10 years. But if the depth of the diving is 18 meters and above, the lower age limit will change. A few basic scuba diving courses in shallow depths of 10 meters don’t require swimming as a pre-requisite. But for depths above 12 meters, knowing swimming is mandatory. The ability to swim 200 m (any style, no time limit) and the ability to float/tread water for 10 minutes is required for a few programs.

Travel Tidbits

Andaman enjoys a tropical climate and thus, the water is warm year-long. The temperature ranges between 25-30 degrees Celsius. The visibility inside water is between  15m  to 30 m in the further reefs. The visibility will be fainter in the closer reefs. There are over 850 species of marine life found in the Andaman waters. The corals here are incredible and the region is one of the most bio-diverse in the world. Innumerable unexplored reefs and dive sites call out to be found and explored by the adventure-seeker lurking within you.

Scuba Diving – Our Approach

Chidiya Tapu is an unpolluted treasure chest of marine wonders and is the most secluded destination in the Havelock Island. Due to its aloofness, nature is pristine here and the aim is to preserve it that way by allowing fewer divers on board the dive boats. This approach also ensures personal care, attention, and comfort to all guests. It is ensured that minimal disturbances are caused to the reef and the conservation process is taken further a step by offering specialist courses for reef conservation awareness. Many unexplored dive sites lie beneath the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, an Island of Rutland, Viper, Passage, and Cinque.  During our dive programs, we explore new dive sites and anyone who joins us would witness one of those dive site discoveries. Once a course is completed with us, guests may take assistance or professional support for international dive trips outside India. Pool training facility is also available in Mumbai and Bangalore to begin basic dive training much before reaching the dive site.
