This Traditional Homestay near Neduveli, a three-acre plantation, has two accommodations—Backwater Cottage and Garden Room which can each accommodate four persons. The former is a large room while the latter is actually two rooms that can be combined if required. Backwater Cottage is independent of the main house and is ideal for those desirous of private space. The spacious room with a verandah has twin beds and provides a beautiful view of the backwaters. The Garden Room is a wing of the main house and is made of two interconnected rooms. It opens to a sit-out that connects you to the garden and backwaters making it a great spot to enjoy quiet moments in the mornings and evenings. On request, extra twin beds will also be made available at Backwater Cottage.

Traditional Homestay near Neduveli is just ideal for guests who would like to stay for longer duration. A kitchenette with facilities such as fridge, electric kettle, oven, hobs, and pans are available at Backwater Cottage which also offers easy access to people with limited or little mobility. While at the homestay, there are numerous activities lined up for guests of all interests.

In Kumbalangy Village

Take a boat trip on a canoe cruising the backwaters at sunset or visit the local Prawn Farm House and fish a little. Gaze at the paddy fields as you are driven around on a tuk-tuk to the beachside to experience the traditional fish auction. Interact with local children at the St Joseph’s Primary School after your complimentary breakfast or pick up yoga tips at the homestay. Take a boat trip to the village on the opposite shore for lunch or dinner with the backwaters adding to the ambience. On prior intimation, you can instead choose to eat dinner at the Homestay.

Outside the Kumbalangy village

Day trips to Mattancheri and Fort Cochin can be planned. While at these places, one can visit the spice market, antique shops, and view a Kathakali performance in the evening. A visit to Kodanad is a must to have a fun experience bathing elephants and you can also visit the baby elephant training center nearby. Fort Cochin is also famous for its Ayurvedic treatments.

A river valley group tour with other tourists to Cochin is conducted from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. A day trip to Alleppy backwaters and Anthakaranazhi beach or Marari beach can be arranged too. One can also visit Kumarakom backwaters.

This Homestay at Kumbalangy is at a distance of 557 km (app 10 hrs) away from Bangalore. Take Hosur road from Bangalore and drive towards Coimbatore-Thrissur onto Cochin. From Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station proceed to BOT Bridge. At BOT Bridge turn left to Aroor-Thoppumpady Raod. After about 3 km (appx 10 mins), turn right to Perumbadappu Road. Further, continue onto Kumbalangy Bridge and on North Kumbalangy Road for about 300 metres. Then turn right you will reach Neduveli Street after 500 metre’s drive. Continue on the Neduveli Street for about 130 metres to reach the Homestay.
