It offers authentic Kerala dining experience with a wide range of local delicacies, such as Kerala Sadya (a vegetarian banquet with more than 20 dishes served in a single course), pearl spot wrapped in banana leaf, Malabar fish curry, and more. 

Accommodation at the Traditional Homestay near Kumarakom Lake is available both in the heritage home on land and on the houseboats on the lake. The heritage home has three independent, air-conditioned bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, a veranda, and a private sit-out that offers enchanting views of the backwaters. The houseboats offer from one- to five-bedroom accommodation for different tariffs. They have different schedules for cruising in the backwaters and being stationed at the lake’s bank to give you the best of both the worlds.   • Complimentary Lunch and Dinner will be provided only from 12.30 to 15.00 and 18.30 to 21.00 respectively.
  • If the guest needs multi-cuisine dishes, they can order from the À la carte menu provided and it is chargeable.

Cancellation policy

  • For Cancellations made before 14 days prior to the date of arrival, 100% of the total advance payment will be refund 
  • For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the date of arrival, the total room charges will be charged as retention.
  • But postponing or preponing of the booking will be considered, as per the availability, within the period of three months.
  • Postponing or preponing of the booking will not be considered within the 10 days of the check-in date
  • No Refund for Cancellation between December 18th to January 5th of every year

  • If the guest doesn’t turn up on the first day and check in on the second day of the reservation, we will provide cottages to the guest, if the cottage is available and otherwise refund of cash will not be considered.

Other than watching the colors of the sun reflecting on the placid backwaters, there is much more to see and do in Kumarakom. The homestay’s 4-acre land is a treasure trove for nature lovers. You can take a walk in the farm and see the local landscape where coconut, mango, jackfruit, and banana trees thrive. If you’re not already staying in a houseboat, you can take a cruise in one to explore the vast expanse of the backwaters and the many canals feeding them.

The homestay has a herbal beauty clinic for women where you can treat your skin to one of the many Ayurvedic beauty recipes. Ayurvedic treatments are also arranged on request. Children can make the best of the play area at the homestay.

A village safari and fishing opportunities can be arranged for those who are interested. You can also visit the tourist attractions in and around Kumarakom, such as the Ettumanoor Temple, St. Mary’s Church, the Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple, and more. If you are a birdwatcher, you should definitely visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, which is home to many magnificent and also rare migratory birds.
