Nestled amid 200 acres of coffee and spice plantations is the Plantation Bungalow at Chulliyode. Everything about this boutique plantation resort exudes the essence of a bygone Colonial era. The 140-year old property is managed by a family of planters. You can be sure of getting undivided attention and pampering as the maximum number of guests at any time does not exceed 10. There are two types of accommodation at the Plantation Bungalow at Chulliyode – the bungalow and tree houses. The Old Bungalow houses two suites, namely the Malabar Suite and the Mackenzie Suite. The former is located on the entire ground floor while the latter offers panoramic views of the plantation all around the property. Both the suites are elegantly furnished with a distinct style of their own. The two tree houses, Woodpecker and Hornbill, are built on trees that touch the sky with their towering height of over 40 feet. Both of them feature a spacious bedroom, a dressing room, an attached bathroom, and an outdoor living area. Staying in either of the tree houses will let you experience ultimate luxury out in the wild. That’s not something you get to enjoy on a daily basis, right?

When you want to give aimless walking a break, stop to see how experienced hands harvest tea, coffee, and spices. In the middle of the plantation is a reservoir fed by natural springs. How about taking a coracle ride in the reservoir or lounging on the hammocks or in the pavilion? If you don’t mind walking around the area, take a moment to focus on the flora and fauna of the region. You’ll also find opportunities for boating and fishing at the reservoir.
If you want to explore the many sights of Wayanad, excursions and one-day trips can be arranged for you on prior request. From exploring the popular attractions to going off the beaten path, there are many things you can do while you are here.
