Experience the serenity and otherworldly charm of Ladakh during your holiday at the picture-perfect Luxury Resort at Skara.

Ladakh is a land of mystic landscapes. The immaculate gompas or Buddhist monasteries look supernatural perched against the jagged mountains of the Himalayas. The white stupas and walls look like natural features of the rugged terrain. Colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind that reads the spiritual messages inscribed on them. Crossing high passes to reach this magical place is another experience in itself. Ladakh is a mountain-lover’s paradise and the perfect place to treat your eyes to some of the best views of the mighty Himalayas. Amidst all this natural and raw beauty is the Luxury Resort at Skara.

Started in 2006, the Luxury Resort at Skara is a labor of love. It was converted into a boutique hotel as an extension of its owner’s ancestral home. An eco-boutique hotel, the resort is a true reflection of the colors of Ladakh. It features traditional Ladakhi architecture and brings sustainable tourism to this dreamlike location. The flat-roof construction of the resort includes local material, such as wood, stone and adobe, used for building the folk homes of Ladakh. There’s an in-house restaurant at the resort that serves Mughlai, Gujarati, Chinese and continental cuisines along with authentic Ladakhi delicacies. The resort is also host to a unique outdoor restaurant on a tree platform. There are all the ingredients to soothe your wanderlust and appetite for delicious fare. The resort also has a traditional prayer room.

Accommodation at the Luxury Resort at Skara is split into two room categories. There are 19 Deluxe Rooms and four Tree Houses. All the rooms reflect the traditional approach of Ladakhi architecture to interconnect the elements of nature: earth, air, water, fire, and sky. The rooms display the entire region’s traditional beauty in the most modern way. Every room has an attached bathroom with running hot and cold water. The contemporary, state-of-the-art facilities that the rooms are equipped with will make your stay at the resort a thing of luxury and ultimate comfort.
